Last weekend was the Big-Little retreat, where all of the associates and their Big Brothers bond over a weekend together. I went this semester because I love camping and I am on the committee that planned the event. On Friday night us brothers when for a hike down in Cloudland Canyon. It was intensely dark but still an amazing sight of nature while its masked by night. We found a waterfall that turned out to be great for an early morning worship time on Saturday. We had some great conversation as we walked talking about life. I loved being away from Tech for just two days and being at a place where the stresses of school could not effect me in the slightest.
Once people started to head back to the cabin Borsch and I just stayed behind for some time in thought and prayer. It was utterly amazing, just looking out into the canyon when I could not see a thing. Yesterday I was thinking about this and I am not sure if this is theologically sound but i'll throw it out there. I feel like most of the time we are staring at God from this darkness, we can only see the outline of his beauty, power, mercy and grace. Then as the sun rises and the veil is lifted from out eyes we see more and more the truth is these characteristics of the Father. They just click and out image of God becomes this vivid painting of love and mercy flowing all over our lives.
When Borsch and I finished communing with the Lord through out silence we walked back to the Cabin and he brought forward some lyrics to a song that he was meditating on. "The years go by like stones under rushing water." We are the stones under that rushing water, and the Father is that rushing water. This is a thought that we both had an I have been thinking about a lot lately. This framework of salvation and sanctification in relation to being a stone. We start as a stone, when we accept Christ and have him revealed to our Hearts God tosses our stone into the water. Even before we accept Christ the Lord is dipping our stone in this water, he is revealing his power through his living water. Then as we grow in Christ the powerful waters of the Lord smooth our stone, these waters move in a special way for each stone because each one is placed at a different part of the river. This submersion of our stone is as to being in the body of Christ, we are all stones all being changed by the healing waters of the Lord. He mends our broken hearts, releases our captive minds and bodies, we become new during this transformation. This is the power of the Lord, displayed in nature and reminding me of the fact that I am continually being transformed by my Father. This is a mind blowing thought therefore I think I will meditate on it and all the Lord to conform by heart to his will!

Why don't we dance anymore
I'm not ok with that
Why don't we laugh anymore
I'm not ok with that
The years go by like stones under rushing water
We only know when it's gone
Why don't we smile anymore
I'm not ok with that
Why don't we dance slowly
I'm not ok with that
The years go by like stones under rushing water
We only know when it's gone
The years go by like stones under rushing water
We only know when it's gone
Why don't we dance anymore
I'm not ok with that
All is Great in the Lord
